Paranormal researcher Mitchel Whitington is an author and lecturer on the topic of the supernatural. He has written many articles and books on the subject. Over the last two decades, Mitchel has explored haunted locations across the United States from one coast to the other, and has experienced many brushes with the supernatural. When he is not traveling, Mitchel lives in an 1861 historic home in Jefferson, Texas named The Grove with his wife, their basset hounds, and quite a few resident spirits.
Mitchel has over twenty years of writing experience, in which he has penned short stories published in a wide variety of genres, from sci/fi to horror, and fantasy to historical fiction. He has authored eight published books ranging from the 1990's non-fiction Debunking the Y2K Terrors and Tales to the whimsical comedy Uncle Bubba's Chicken Wing Fling. His writing have been published in most every format possible: regional and national magazines, newspapers, ebooks, ezines, regional books and national books.
Mitchel is a frequent speaker at national conferences, and appears as a guest on radio programs across the United States and Canada. One of his favorite subjects is haunted places, and his haunted travel guide series includes regional works such as "Ghosts of North Texas" and "Ghosts of East Texas and the Pineywoods", along with his latest national title "A Ghost In My Suitcase: A Guide To Haunted Travel In America".
Mitchel maintains the Ghost In My Suitcase website, along with the Ghost-Blog. Mitchel also instructs writers in book promotion and publicity, and specializes in press kits. He has presented his press kit instruction to writer's groups and at conferences from coast to coast.
