Originally from England, Nick Redfern now lives in the Dallas, Texas metroplex area with his wife, Dana. He is the author of many books on UFOs, aliens, Bigfoot, werewolves, the Loch Ness Monster, paranormal phenomena, conspiracy‐theories, psychic powers, and Hollywood scandal.
His titles include the following: Contactees; Memoirs of a Monster Hunter; A Covert Agenda; Strange Secrets; Three Men Seeking Monsters; The FBI Files; Celebrity Secrets; Cosmic Crashes; There's Something in the Woods ; Science Fiction Secrets; On the Trail of the Saucer Spies; Body Snatchers in the Desert; and Man‐Monkey.
Nick writes regularly for the newsstand publications UFO Magazine; Paranormal Magazine; and Fortean Times. He has also written for the British‐based Daily Express and People newspapers; Military Illustrated; and Fate; and worked for a year as coeditor of the mystery‐based magazine Phenomena. He writes a regular, weekly column called Lair of the Beasts for the popular on‐line website, mania.com; and maintains a large number of blogs to promote his books and research.
He has appeared on many televisions shows, including the Sci‐Fi Channel ʹ s productions Proof Positive and UFO Invasion at Rendlesham; the History Channel ʹ s UFO Hunters; the BBC ʹ s Out of This World series; Countdown with Keith Olbermann; and Fields of Fear ‐ a production made for Canada ʹ s Space Channel. Nick Redfern has searched for lake‐monsters at Loch Ness; blood‐sucking vampires in Puerto Rico ʹ s El Yunque rain‐forest; Bigfoot in the woods of the Pacific Northwest; aliens in the mountains of Mexico; and ghosts in the heart of Texas.
He runs the American office of the British‐based Center for Fortean Zoology ‐ the world ʹ s only ‐full time organization dedicated to investigating such mysterious creatures as the North American Bigfoot; the Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas; the Chupacabras of Puerto Rico; the Death‐Worm of Mongolia; and countless others.
